Day 2 Melbourne
Today we started out the day taking a "short stroll" through Melbourne to the department of industries. There we learned how the Australian government works to fight dieses and how they track their livestock. For me that was the most interesting part of the seminar, simply because I have personally worked with the EID before. But with their system everything links back together which I thought was a strength that the States don't have. For their cattle, all cattle are mandatory to have an EID where the sheep aren't. To me I think it should be opposit because they have much more sheep! After the seminar we headed off to the brewery which was the largest in Australia. It covered over 20 acres of land. We learned how they made the beer and where it was bottled, labeled and packaged. Those were my highlights to our trip for me!See ya tomorrow!Schaake
